Transportation in the Seychelles is available through several options, depending on the island and your preferences:
Aviation: The fastest way to travel between islands is by domestic flights. Air Seychelles operates regular flights between Mahé, Praslin, and other islands.
Ferries and Boats: Cat Cocos and Inter Island Ferry are the main ferry operators running between Mahé, Praslin, and La Digue. This is a more economical but slower option. Private boats can also be chartered.
Buses: There are bus networks on Mahé and Praslin. This is the cheapest way to get around, but buses can be crowded, and schedules are not always adhered to.
Taxis: Taxis are available on Mahé, Praslin, and La Digue. They are relatively expensive but convenient. It's recommended to negotiate the price in advance.
Car Rentals: Renting a car is a good option for independent exploration of Mahé and Praslin. The roads are generally good, but narrow and winding in places. Driving is on the left.
Bicycles: On La Digue, a bicycle is the primary mode of transportation. There are no buses here, and very few cars.
The choice of transportation depends on your budget, time, and desired level of comfort.
