Overview
The Anse Major Trail is located in Morne Seychellois National Park and is suitable for visitors looking to combine hiking with relaxation on a beautiful beach. The trail passes through large granite boulders and ends at the stunning Anse Major beach.

Route
The trail goes across the slopes of granite rock, sections of forests, open terrain, small river valleys and across open rocky ridges which are well paved and where small bridges have been added to several areas.
Roughly 3/4 of the way you’ll come across “Ros Légliz” – a cave formed by massive boulders which crashed into each other in the distant past. As you near the end of the trail, admire your destination – Anse Major, a beautiful cove surrounded by forest.
Flora and Fauna
The Vegetation is dominated by endemic and indigenous species including:
- Café Marron Grande Feuille (deckenia nobilis)
- Bois Calou (Mmamecylon eleagni)
- Latanier Millepatte (Nephrosperma vanhoutteanum)
- Seychelles Vanilla (Vanilla phalaenopsis)
You may sight or hear birds singing such as the Seychelles Blue Pigeons, especially when the trees are flowering and fruiting.
Getting There
From Ombres-Danzil go up the road approximately 200m. At a fork in the road take the road to the right through Danzil settlement, following the yellow trail markers.
Travel tip
During the North West Monsoon season the sea can be rough and it is not advisable to swim.
